family festival

It was family festival time again.

 {beautiful weather, towards the end of the evening we wished we had sweatshirts}

 {ride #1 out of ???, we lost count, they loved it}

We look forward to this every June, we weren't disappointed a bit.

a summer treat

During the summer I splurge a little and purchase the Super Pretzels - the pre-made, frozen, soft pretzels you warm up in the microwave. They are a big hit. 

I have a friend in California that makes her own.  When I saw the recipe and the time involved I shyed away from it. I try to keep summer snacks, lunches and dinners simple with little time in the kitchen.  Plus I don't like turning on the oven, HOT!

  {Ange, all I can say is you rock and you are welcome to come to MO and show me how it's done.  Maybe then I will attempt it.}

Anyway, the girls love them.

Another summer treat just for me is sliced cucumbers in my h2O.  I know I could drink this in the fall/winter months but it is more refreshing in the summer.

Since today is officially the first day of summer, we have made our summer to do list.

We have one checked off already!

at my feet

Being home these summer months means I have a little friend following me EVERYwhere I go. 

It does get tiring and there have been a few close calls. 

He is always at my feet.

that I'm glad VBS is over?
that we're late on getting school registration completed for this fall?
that I gave Truman a huge rawhide bone to keep him from being my shadow all day long?
my sink and dishwasher are full of clean dishes that I don't want to put away?
I slept in until 8:45 most days this week?
that I haven't "cooked" one meal this week?
that I have no milk, eggs or bread in the house?
that I have a graduation gift that still hasn't made it to the graduate?
that I'm making this as a "free from making your bed" day?
I'm hoping it rains so I don't have to water my outdoor plants?
I haven't purchased or sent out Father's Day cards for my Dad, Paul or Art?
that I would rather spend the afternoon with a friend than do some of the above items?

I think the answer is.....

summer

The pool is out, summer is here.

afterall.... tomorrow is another day

It's the end of the day and instead of going to bed, here I am blogging.

I had a very lazy day and now I feel wide awake.

Had a set back keeping me on the couch most of the day.

Have meds now so all is starting to come up roses.

The day had it's goods and not so goods...

Goods -

I was able to spend some time last night with my friend Jonica, just us talking over a strawberry smoothie and green tea, pure delight to be with her, made me smile throughout the day

the girls played so well together, giving me time to rest

Jonica got some good news today, praise God for his blessings

Sarah kept us all in stitches, I believe she will be a comedian someday

Truman knew I needed extra love today and was there giving in abundance

Medicine.

Art brought home dinner :)

Grace cuddled with me on the couch as we watched house hunters, we love to guess which one they will choose

Not so goods....

A good friend and her family are making tough decisions today regarding her father's life, please pray for T.

Pain, nothing like what friends are going through but there reminding me yet again I need to take better care of myself

 I realized I purchased the wrong age group books from our local mom and pop teacher store, hoping they will let me exchange them

Didn't get a thing done with VBS (told you I was lazy)

I realized I took meds that I'm allergic to, waiting for the rash now (UGHHH)

I didn't get any exercise in.

Took my pill with chocolate milk, at 10:00 p.m. (not good for the hips)

Tomorrow is another day, I will rejoice and be glad in it.
