6 going on 16

Last night was a GNO {girls night out}. One of the conversations we had was about something that played out this week for two friends of mine and their sweet 6 year olds. Their Moms may not think them sweet right now, but I know they are. Girls are made up of many things including drama, I know this being one myself.

But girls are also...

Pink shoes that are too small but still worn around the house as house slippers {on the wrong feet too}!
They are pink pajama wearing, crazy hugging, tousled haired bundles of energy.

Quiet, reserved at times, beautiful.

Purple robe wearing, pampering pets, Halloween sock joys.

Good/bad drama, I wouldn't change a thing.

armed and dangerous

This is the armed and dangerous part.
On a quest to rid my home of germs.
Wish me luck.

Checklist and April 365

Well with all of this time at home I've completed some projects on my to do, finish what you started list. I got my recipes in order, in their own easy to grab binder. Number one - check! With hubby's help I backed up my images so number two - check!

Now I'm slowly getting back into my 2009 Project 365. I know it wasn't on my original to do list but it was one of those things I simply forgot about. I took a picture for each day of 2009 and am documenting it in a binder here at home. I sent the pictures off this a.m. to Wally World for April, yes I said April. I know I'm behind but I'm determined to get it done. I have enjoyed the process, I was worried it would end up being one of those I gotta get this done, just to get it done projects. Not so. So while Grace recuperates and Sarah colors, I create again.

strep

The face of strep.
Taken by my iphone, by this Mom who is staying close, watching.
This is our first bout with strep throat.
Between GM and I, we are keeping the doctors busy this week.
I was under the weather earlier this week, now this.
I really don't like it when either of my girls is sick, makes this Momma worry.

finish what you started

I'm working on some projects I started last year. Yes, sadly I've been a procrastinator. I've prioritized and am now started on my long list of things to FINISH!

1) Recipes. Collecting our favorites, putting them into one easy to find book. I'm tired of fumbling through recipe cards. I chose this one first because all the hard work is done, I just need to print and place in my book.

2) Backing up my images - this one shames me the most. I haven't backed up my photos in FOREVER. Unfortunately I need to sit down with Art to make this happen, I need him to get me started. It's hard to do this with kids climbing on you.

3) Alter and hang curtains in the basement. Simple enough, my Mom is a pro at sewing, you'd think I'd be done with this by now. We have curtains, just haven't made them a priority.

4) Clean the office - Ugghhhh. AP used to work from home so his office was kept up, usually on a day to day basis. Lately it's been a room where things have been put until we can get to them. Sad but true, it's easy to close the door and walk away from it.

5) Create curtains for my dining room. There's a pattern here. Have the material, the idea, need the Mom again. Do you think she would move in for a week and help me out? :)

6) Journal the scrapbook pages I got done in January. Books are ready to receive, I just need to get busy.

The list is long and if I sat here long enough I could add more to it but I think I will take it one at a time. I would love to have most completed by spring but it all depends on my time and motivation.

how many licks does it take...

to tucker out my baby?

Apparently not many when you've been running all day and are then put into a warm car for a long ride home.
{Love this, btw - the sucker never fell}

prayers for ears

We have a countdown going. Can you guess what for?This one prays for it nightly.I'm sure it's not the first time God has heard prayers for WDW.

purchase spring

My how I wish I could purchase Spring and have it come now. I would do it in a heartbeat, wouldn't you? We're coming off our third continuous week of snow on the ground here and with each new snow I hear more and more talk of Spring. I stood in line today with a woman who said the snow was fun, but enough is enough already.

Today, I purchased my own little piece of Spring with these shoes. On clearance for $5 at Wally. Love the bright color and how they make me feel. I've been wearing them around the house since I got home :-).

AP purchased these this weekend at Trader Joes, $1.49 a bunch. Not a bad price for the color and joy they bring into our home. I love Jonquils.
This is another clearance item I found. My girls love lady bugs so they were hooked, I like the rose inside, another reminder of warmer temps. We are enjoying its beauty as well.
So I can purchase spring, at least little parts of it.

celebrate love

I made these today for Valentine's Day.
It is the one thing I do for my Valentine each year on this day.
He loves the milk chocolate.
I like the white chocolate.
Two different tastes.
One happy love.

Have a blessed day, celebrating with your loved one(s).

green

Green, what a refreshing, perk me up kind of color.
These peas remind me of warmer temperatures {I know I may be stretching it but I'm coming off my third snow day}.
My mind wanders to spring these days.
With all of this snow and cold temps it might seem crazy but I'm already tired of it and it's only February!
I was born in the show me state, I can't imagine living anywhere else but sometimes {like now} owning a t-shirt hut on a hawaiian beach sounds pretty tempting.

love my deck...

because my little ones can go out on it and enjoy the snow,
I don't have to worry about them when they are out there,
I can keep an easy eye on them,
there are no stairs to it,
it's safe,
and they love it.

more valentine's

Today is turning out to be a very productive day.
We just completed GM's school Valentine's.
Both are from Family Fun Magazine.
We are set and ready to go, now only if the weather cooperates.

For the girls {wild bracelets with candy inside}

for the boys {airplanes with candy inside}{plane awesome}

love day greeting

try these out for budget friendly valentines

I read this and thought there were some cute ideas. After purchasing a new to us car and all the other expenses this time of year I'm looking for a way to show my man I love him without breaking the bank.

more

Sam is getting heavier :-).

mutts about you {part 2}

Sarah and I made these sweet puppy valentines for her class party coming up this week {hopefully}. I think her favorite part of making these was knowing that her sister gave these same valentines away when she was her age.

{they are from Family Fun magazine and consist of 4 hearts, googley eyes, glue for the eyes, tape to adhere the candy bar tongues. On the back is written I'm Mutts About You!}
